A good gap filler for between the first and second seasons of the TV series.

Plot Summary
Looking back through the first season of the TV series, these are some 'alternate angle' stories to fill in some of the gaps in between events.

The Review
There isn't really much to say about the OVA that can't be said about the TV series. These two OVA episodes are structured exactly like the broadcast episodes, so they feel like 'lost episodes' in a way.

That said, this OVA is a great stopgap after the end of the first season and before the start of the second. We see some of the events from the TV series from a different perspective, and the supporting cast is actually featured a bit more prominently here than in the TV series. Yakumo fans in particular will find a lot to like.

If you are a School Rumble fan already, there is no need to hesitate to add the OVA to your collection. If you're new to the series, I'd recommend at least watching the first season or reading the manga first so you know the characters and events that the stories here fall in between.

Having watched the OVA, it has me looking forward to watching season two once that is released! Extra Term is a nice little two episode package that can be watched when you want a quick dose of School Rumble without having to pick a random episode in the middle of the season.
